Imagine a printer can print 100 pages in a minute… that is four times faster than a laser printer. And a replacement ink can print up to 100,000 pages. It’s a technological breakthrough that was introduced by Epson. It is nothing short of amazing.
Epson recently released their Workforce series of inkjet printers for business. The printers of the Workforce series utilize the new Replaceable Ink Pack System (RIPS) that comes in pouches instead of cartridges. It boasts the lowest color cost printing in its class that their standard capacity RIPS can print at least 80,000 pages; way more than a high-yield toner or an inkjet cartridge can muster. There were formulated and designed to increase work productivity with high volume printing at an affordable cost, meaning less replacing and disposing ink cartridges. At the same time, RIPS inks also deliver vivid color and are instant drying.
A RIPS printer is actually an inkjet printer that works like a laser printer. These printers appear the same on the outside but that’s where their similarity ends. Inside a RIPS printer is a stationary print head; the paper to moves around during printing process. The ink ejection (piezo) process does not require heat speed unlike a laser printer. Instead, pressure is applied to the Piezo element, which flexes forward and backward firing the ink from the printhead. It comprises of 11 print heads put together side by side so it can print more efficient compared to a standard single head inkjet printer. Epson’s Heat-Free Technology means lower power consumption, less wear and tear of the printer internal parts and lesser chance for the mechanical parts to fail. A single Epson T902 Black Ink can cost you 0.09 cents per page.
With all its advantages, an Epson’s Workforce series printer with RIPS is indeed a game changer; an attractive investment for your business. It’s also economically viable for home use too.
