HP wireless printers like most printers of this type rely on radio signals delivered by the router or similar devices. Signals being wireless and not visible could not be tracked physically making HP troubleshooting a problem to crack.
There are two major problems users encounter when using wireless printers. One, suddenly the printer stops working due to signal irregularity, second, the printer refused to work using the network. In both instances, reconnecting to the wireless network becomes a classic case of guesswork, simply because users never knew what caused the disruption of signal in the first place. Troubleshooting regularly starts with the local network, the device connection, the power supply and several others.
When a wireless printer suddenly stops, the network signal strength will be the cause, unless there is a power interruption. To simplify matters, the first line of action is to shut off the devices and allow a few seconds before restarting. In at least 70% of the time this course of action allows the devices and wireless signals to reconnect and printing operation to continue. However if this action fails, then disruption could be caused by the following:
- While working did the user changed or institute changes in the computer?
- Was there changes done on the wireless router and check for messages that can lead to correcting the cause of the signal disruption.
When the wireless printer refused to work using the network, the cause could be traced to the unmatched IP address being used, the router’s setting, the firewall installed and also the VPN network. All of these contribute to the printer’s refusal to do at the user’s bidding. Check that both the devices are attuned to the same IP address, that the firewall installed is not the culprit, ascertain that the router has the correct setting and disable the VPN connection when using the printer.
Remember, HP troubleshooting is a serious exercise, nobody is a pro and consistently correct all the time. Follow the rules of the trade to render HP wireless printer easier to manage.
