If you have a Canon inkjet printer, chances are you’ve encountered Error B200 at some point. This error has bothered me numerous times too. Good thing, I learned how to manage and resolve this error on my own. Now, this simple troubleshooting guide should help you fix Error B200 for the Pixma MP560. I applied these courses of actions countless of times and success rate is at 8 out of 10. That’s pretty high (I think?!) which is why I’m confidently sharing it with you guys.
Error B200 Causes – What Sets Off this Printer Error?
Here’s the thing though, this error usually occurs when different formulas of ink have been utilized by the printer. One good example is when you replace or refill an OEM cartridge with cheap printing supplies that have questionable toner quality and/or build quality. So, I highly recommend buying only from legitimate vendors if you opt to refill or use remanufactured ink cartridge
Troubleshooting Guide – How to Fix Error B200?
Phase #1:
- Turn off the printer and unplug from the power source.
- Open the printer cover to reveal the ink cartridges.
- Remove the Pixma MP560 cartridges – PGI-220BK and CLI-221.
- Carefully remove the printhead from the printer. Handle with utmost care to avoid damaging the components as well as the cables connected.
- Avoid using excessive force when disconnecting cables.
- Clean the printhead along with the ink cartridges. This guide should help you clean them properly.
- Clean the contact pads with a contact cleaner or a good old pencil eraser. How to fix clogged print head and be rid of dried printer ink
- Reinstall the printhead first and then the ink cartridges thereafter before powering up the Canon inkjet printer.
- Run the “Auto Head Alignment” test print.
The whole process should take about 30 minutes depending on how thorough you want to clean the printhead and the cartridges. If the error still pops up, proceed to the next phase.
Phase #2:
In this phase, you will need to have an internet connection and administrator access on a computer.
- Update the printer drivers as well as the Canon IJ Printer Utility software.
- Click “Start” from your Windows desktop and click “Devices and Printers.”
- Right-click the Canon Pixma MP560 and click “Properties.”
- Select the “Maintenance” tab and click “Deep Cleaning.”
- Run a Nozzle Check from the Maintenance tab when the deep cleaning is done.
