What provides the greatest benefit to the environment? Sustainability is clearly at the forefront of its product development, as printer manufacturer Lexmark did not only conform to international standards. The OEM also developed innovative technology and practices that are geared towards the responsible management of its printers and multifunction devices at the end of its life cycle. Let us look at a few of the sustainability practices rolled out by the printer giant in recent years.
Lexmark Cartridge Collection Program (LCCP)
This is a feather on Lexmark cap. Time and time again, Lexmark has earned international recognition for its cartridge recycling process. According to a life cycle assessment commissioned by the OEM, when we recycle Lexmark cartridges, the cartridge carbon footprint is reduced by as much as 60%. The LCCP is now in operation in more than 60 countries.
The OEM recycle Lexmark cartridges program is pretty straightforward but what is impressive is the adoption rate by its customers that far exceeds industry averages. Customers participating in the program return 1 out of 3 cartridges used.
This would not come as a surprise since the Lexmark Cartridge Collection Program makes it easy for customers to return their used toner and ink cartridges.
To return used ink cartridges, the customer only needs to order free recycling bags at freedigitalphotos.net and mail the package for free. For used toner cartridges, a return label is provided along with the purchase. Returned cartridges are either remanufactured or routed to a material recycling process
