How to extend the life of Brother toner cartridge TN660?
The running costs of a laser printer can add up if you are turning out high-volume print jobs each month. If you are on a budget, minimizing printing costs per page or CPP should be on top of your mind. Outlined below are a few laser printer usage tips that can help you extend the life of your toner cartridge and minimize printing costs.

  • Don’t mind getting draft-quality copies? Set your laser printer to Draft Mode or Economy Mode. This way print coverage will be minimized.
  • Print only when it’s absolutely necessary. If your eyes can still tolerate reading a few pages of digital documents, then you can do away with printed copies and save toner powder for far more important print jobs.
  • Use narrow fonts. Indeed, the type of font used has an impact on print coverage. Using fonts like Arial Narrow and Century Gothic will utilize less toner powder in the process and won’t eat up your toner supply that easily.
  • Use the laser printer regularly. This would help prevent the toner from drying up.
  • Make it a habit to turn the laser printer off. Do this once printed copies have been turned out and no more print jobs are on queue.
  • Give the cartridge a little shake after the Toner Empty notification is prompted. The cartridge still holds toner powder at this point and gently shaking back and forth can still get you a few more pages of print.
